Utility Customer Service

Assistance Programs


Lifeline Rate Program - available to qualified low-income seniors (age 62 and over) and low-income diabled customers. Provides a 25% discount on the Electric Service Charge and the first 600 kiloWatt hours of usage each month, up to a maximum of $13.54. CARES Program - available to qualified low-income customers. Provides one-time bill payment assistance toward the electric portion of a customers utility bill. This program is administered by the City of Redding Customer Service. Call 530-339-7200 or 866-267-8845.

SHARE Program - Assistance to seniors. This program is administered by the Older Adult Policy Council "Power to Seniors". Call (530) 223-6034.

Housing Rehabilitation Program - provides low interest and deferred loans to qualified customers for home repairs and energy efficiency upgrades. Available through the City of Redding Housing Department. Call 530-225-4409.

Energy Conservation Information - available to all customers of Redding Electric Utility. For a packet of energy conservation information, call Customer Service at 530-339-7200 866-267-8845, visit us at City Hall at 777 Cypress Avenue, or visit our Conservation pages.

The following programs are not administered by Redding Electric Utility:

  • Self-Help Home Improvement Project (SHHIP) - provides weatherization help to low income households. For more information call (530) 378-6900.
  • Redding Rancheria, help for Native American customers - please contact their agency at (530) 225-8979 for more information on their program.
